SUZUKI RG 250 Mk3
This project was originally an engine rebuid. After stripping of the engine we did uncover the fact that the bottom end was tired. So a full crank rebuild was in order, the pistons were replaced as although the clearances measured well within the limits, the mileage of them was unknown.
Repainting the outer covers and the crank cases in Suzuki grey was required as the rest of the machine was to be put back to as close to standard as possible. Another special requirement for this age Suzuki is the “chemical blacking/ passivate” plating we had to replicate on various parts and fasteners. So with numerous seals, bearings and gaskets it was rebuilt. Not only did it look as new but would be mechanically sound too.
When we contacted the customer to let him know it was ready he suggested that we collected the chassis to complete as he was having trouble finding the time. He had already got 90% of the parts painted polished etc along with some “new old stock parts”.. it was a straight forward re-build with just a few items to sort out. As you can see the spring deadline was met and I’m sure you will agree this mid 80’s stroker looks spot on!
